International Max Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling IMPRS-ESM

The IMPRS-ESM receives generous financial support by the ZEIT Foundation Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius, Hamburg, and by the Max Planck Society for the Advancement in Science, MPG. The Zeit Foundation sponsors the IMPRS-ESM with 767 T Euros over the course of 6 years, the MPG with 711 T Euros over 6 years.

The ZEIT Foundation promotes talented young scientists in support of a globally oriented society and environment. They also foster international exchanges, which will result in the formation of a broad international network. The ZEIT Foundation supports relations between the IMPRS-ESM and research institutions in the developing countries that are involved in climate and Earth system research.

Students are occasionally invited to projects developed by the ZEIT Foundation, e.g. the Bucerius Kunst Forum exhibitions in the City of Hamburg. The ZEIT Foundation also participates in the Annual Retreats and other events organized by IMPRS-ESM.
