Overview seminars
Seminars will be an important part of the School as they allow to bring students and researchers together on a regular schedule , thus providing opportunities for meeting high rank scientists from abroad and for socialising.
Participating in the science reports and presentations encourages younger scientists and helps them learning to improve their presentation skills, to participate in discussions, and to provide feed-backs.
The Seminar Series consist of two types of seminars:
A) Regular seminars
Tuesdays: ZMAW scientific reports
Wednesdays: ZMAW seminars

B) Guest seminars
A joint seminar series between the participating institutes at the University of Hamburg, the GKSS Research Centre and the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology will be organised with focus on global and regional Earth System modelling. Worldwide recognized scientists and specialists in this field in Germany and abroad will be invited jointly with the University of Hamburg. The Hamburg Institute for International Economics will contribute special lectures based on its own guest programme.
Students will also be asked periodically to attend the annual retreat and summer schools, and to make short presentations on the progress of their work. These presentations will be followed specifically by the individual Advisory Panels and by the members of the Executive Committee. These presentations are also regarded as a mentoring activity for the students.
