The Executive Committee (ExeCom) makes all appropriate decisions regarding the School, the selection of students, the organisation of the lectures, the evaluation of the students and their work, etc. They will make sure that the students have the necessary degree to be accepted in the School, monitor quality, progress and time schedule of individual doctoral studies, and check that the students have received enough credits before they submit their doctoral thesis. The ExeCom invites foreign doctoral students to visit the IMPRS-ESM for a few months, as well as recognized scientists as guests, presenting special seminars or contributing to special topics if needed.

The Coordinator organizes the School according to the lines set by the Executive Committee.

Advisory Panels

Although not originally planned, individual Advisory Panels have been instituted and implemented for each student of the School. These Panels include the Advisor of the student and two additional members - one of them is chairing the Panel. The task of these Panels is to accompany the doctoral student during her/his entire tenure, and specifically to mentor and advise the student, to suggest courses to follow, providing support, and to help preparing the thesis document as well as research papers. The Panel provides an Annual Report to the Executive Committee and to the coordinator of the School. A copy of this report is given to the student.
