Content The focus will be on introducing ecosystem modeling as a discipline
while making students better-informed users of models or interpreters of
model results. Topics will include the purposes that ecosystem models are
developed and used, the fundamental principles of ecosystem functioning
and their representation in models, the methods modelers use, as well as
model applications for forecasting or ecision-making.
   
Comments There are no required prerequisites, although ecosystem ecology,
environmental physiology, or biogeochemistry at the advanced undergraduate
or graduate level are recommended. A final project is required.
